Friends with food

This is a food blog and I’m clarifying that mostly for myself. I’ve struggled for a very long time with my relationship with food and in my journey for more knowledge realized that most of what I know is wrong. As a private chef, I learn about other folks’ relationships with food. For a lot of us, food is an afterthought, a nuisance, or worse a fad diet that deprives our taste buds and our bodies of nutrition. We stick to regiments of caloric intake without much understanding of why.

Next to breathing, eating is the most important thing we do to live, and I’m worried that we’ve vilified eating so much that food doesn’t even want to be our friend anymore!

In this food blog, I want to explore the evolution of our diets and illuminate what is important to live happy, energized lives through proper nutrition, while eliminating the high cal/low nutrient junk that slows us down. Most importantly, I want to encourage people to look down at your plates and examine what you’re eating.

And with that…I invite you to accompany me in making friends with your food!
